The easiest way to determine whether you are allergic to something is to make the call prick test in the medical consultation. It is a very simple test.

The physician disinfected with ether for example, inner arm, where the test is performed. After that will come with a number of vials: each contains an allergen, ie a substance capable of producing allergies. Mark with a pen a series of dots, usually divided in two lines next to each dot placed with a dropper a drop of each allergen. One of the drops is water or saline, which produces no allergic reaction, another drop is histamine, which always produce allergy: the application of these two drops is performed as a control, to see how the subject reacts to these substances and do a comparison with its reaction to other allergens.

After applying the drops, ten or a dozen normally has a small puncture on each of them. It does not hurt and it’s fast, it’s much less annoying than an injection. The jab comes in contact with our body substances.

We must wait fifteen minutes, during which it is likely to pique the arm a bit, but be patient and hold still. At the point where it has been applied histamine is sure to have a lump or wheal appeared in the same way that there will be no reaction at the site of water: why are control points. If there is only the wheal of histamine do not have allergies. But other hives may appear, at least 3 mm. diameter: if so, indicate that you are allergic to the substance that was at that point. Sometimes the doctor will perform a blood test to confirm the results of the test.
