Allergies Caused by Food

A food allergy occurs because of an abnormal hypersensitivity reaction, which originates from taking or eating a certain food.

In children under four years, the most common allergies are caused by foods such as eggs, milk, shellfish, nuts, citrus and tomatoes. In adults this is less common allergies.

The person before having an allergic reaction to food, must be exposed to the food at least once. Allergic symptoms happen the second time the person eats the food. This time, the antibodies react with the food, histamines are released, giving the reactions. (more…)

Allergy, as I have discussed above, is an exaggerated response of the body in the presence of a substance considered harmful to an allergen. Many foods can trigger these reactions, which is called food allergy.

In the case of cow’s milk, its compounds have the potential to cause allergies, bone are antigens and casein is one of the most frequently provokes.
