Chinese medicine has long used to fight diabetes, and today the treatment is conducted in a large number of households. But is it effective?. Suzanne Grant of the Center for Complementary Medicine Research Univesidad of Western Sydney in Australia has turned to check.

This has analyzed 16 clinical trials including 1391 people receiving 15 herbal recipes. Patients were studied over a given period to check their health in relation to diabetes, thus pre-medicine.

While changes in lifestyle and consumption of these herbs proved to be a valid solution to prevent diabetes, researchers are cautious and prefer to take the results as a scientific exploration rather than a categorical conclusion.

Although herbal medicine has a long tradition in these countries, in such complex diseases as diabetes is important to focus on lifestyle. Chinese medicine is nothing without an intensification of physical activity, healthy diet and cut bad habits.
