Recientemene alluded to Su Jok therapy as an alternative to acupuncture, with a therapy that shares many fundamentals with acupressure. To stay in line, we highlight today a study in relation to acupressure, therapy may be useful in cases of diabetes.
As we know-and-review mode, acupressure is a therapy that works with acupuncture points, just that regardless of the use of needles, replacing them by the application of pressure on them.
In the study, 64 people with type 2 diabetes were assigned a diet and exercise program designed to control hypertension and hyperglycemia. However, a portion of the total was made to participate in sessions of 90 minutes of acupressure four to six times per week.
At study, participants in the latter group experienced lower levels of bad cholesterol, in addition to improved levels of good cholesterol compared with those who received no acupressure. In addition, patients in this group also showed better performance in their kidneys. (more…)
