The amino acid in the blood

Posted by rusman | October 12th, 2010 in Health | No Comments »

Specialists have worked with 168 seniors, victims of some form of cognitive loss problem, as memory lapses or with language barriers, which go beyond the normal forgetfulness that everyone has. The researchers gave half the group of volunteers high daily doses of vitamin B12, B6 and B9 (folic acid), while the rest received a placebo.

After two years the scans performed on patients who had received the cocktail of vitamin B showed that their brains had atrophied to 31% less than those of placebo recipients, in some cases, these percentages to 50%. Although the result is much more encouraging than the researchers of the project team Memory and Ageing (Optima) expected, they warn that it is only a first step and call for caution.

AMINO ACID REDUCER
New and more extensive tests should confirm the efficacy of vitamin B to reduce the levels of the amino acid in the blood, known as homocysteine, associated with brain atrophy and Alzheimer’s. In the study, people with higher homocysteine levels were those that were most benefited. “This vitamin is doing something in the structure of the brain, is protected and that is very important because we need to protect the brain to prevent Alzheimer’s,” says Professor David Smith, who acknowledges that the results are more significant than expected.

“The effect is much larger than anyone had predicted and we are stating that this is a biological effect,” he admits. “We hope he adds, that this simple treatment can delay the development of Alzheimer’s on many people who suffer a mild cognitive decline.”

CAUTION
Vitamin B is found naturally in foods such as meat, fish, eggs and vegetables. The researchers caution that no one should start taking vitamin B supplements in high doses without consulting your doctor. Doses above 200 milligrams per day of vitamin B6, for example, can lead to loss of feeling in arms and legs, although these symptoms are reversible after discontinuing the intake of vitamins. “We need further research before recommending vitamin B supplements as a treatment for neurodegenerative diseases,” says Chris Kennard, chairman of the Medical Research Council Neuroscience and Mental Health.

Face Lift Is Not an Option When You Have the Right Wrinkle Cream

Posted by admin | October 3rd, 2010 in Wrinkle | No Comments »

Cosmetic surgery is very popular way to remove wrinkles on the face, but is not without side and after affects. Apart from expense involved for eradicating wrinkles in this way, you should think about the risks as well. Today you have many options when you want to reduce wrinkles.

Deep wrinkle creams with good quality can do everything a cosmetic surgery can. Moreover, applying anti wrinkle cream is relatively affordable, painless, and much less of an inconvenience. It makes you see no point in considering getting a surgical face lift as you could use a wrinkle removing cream and get the same, if not better, results.

Complications that arise from using a wrinkle cream are very rarely found. Minor complication may occur when someone uses the wrong type of wrinkle cream or one that is not made with natural ingredients.

Another reason why wrinkle creams make wiser choice is because getting face lift procedure cannot be said as a cheap treatment. It may cost you thousands of dollars to have the procedure done, yet there is no guarantee that the results will be what you want them to be. The downfalls continue.

A face lift always comes with the pain so bad you would need pain killers afterward. So what is the point of getting a painful face lift surgery when you can just use a wrinkle remover cream and get rid of wrinkles naturally with time?

The easiest way to determine whether you are allergic to something is to make the call prick test in the medical consultation. It is a very simple test.

The physician disinfected with ether for example, inner arm, where the test is performed. After that will come with a number of vials: each contains an allergen, ie a substance capable of producing allergies. Mark with a pen a series of dots, usually divided in two lines next to each dot placed with a dropper a drop of each allergen. One of the drops is water or saline, which produces no allergic reaction, another drop is histamine, which always produce allergy: the application of these two drops is performed as a control, to see how the subject reacts to these substances and do a comparison with its reaction to other allergens.
