In these weeks we started talking about hepatitis, an infection or inflammation of the liver. We also stress its main symptoms and signs to recognize the symptoms. Today we will begin to see the different types of hepatitis.

While hepatitis A is a short-term illness that goes away completely. It’s the type of hepatitis that most affects children. The virus remains in the faeces of people who have contracted the infection, hence the importance of washing their hands after using the toilet.

Another way of infection is through food intake. Vegetables, fruit and seafood (like shrimp and lobster) can also transmit hepatitis if they were harvested in contaminated water or unsanitary conditions. Hepatitis A is short and once the person recovers not come back.
