Herbal Remedies for Respiratory Health Care

Monday, November 29th, 2010

The primary function of the respiratory system is to provide oxygen to blood so that it can be transported to the various parts of the body. Respiration is the same as breathing. The parts of the respiratory system are:

The lungs – These major organs take the oxygen that we breathe in and make it available to the blood (that flows through the lungs). The waste product delivered back to the lungs by the blood is carbon dioxide. That is what we breathe out.

The nose (and the mouth) – This is where it all begins. Oxygen is brought in to the nose and down to the trachea. When carbon dioxide is expelled, it comes back through the trachea to the nose.

Exfoliation of the skin in depth

It must perform this step with moist skin will facilitate the application of microspheres, massage in circles, so as to remove as many dead cells.

In performing this function periodically, we will make our skin, once renovated, is much softer and porous at the same time, thus the entry of moisturisers and nutrients is optimal.

When we say that is undertaken on a regular basis, we mean that it will be in a range of 15 to 20 days. Although massage should be done with firmness, we should never cause reddening of the skin, and that would make it more sensitive. We emphasize the problem areas like elbows and knees.

The amino acid in the blood

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

Specialists have worked with 168 seniors, victims of some form of cognitive loss problem, as memory lapses or with language barriers, which go beyond the normal forgetfulness that everyone has. The researchers gave half the group of volunteers high daily doses of vitamin B12, B6 and B9 (folic acid), while the rest received a placebo.

After two years the scans performed on patients who had received the cocktail of vitamin B showed that their brains had atrophied to 31% less than those of placebo recipients, in some cases, these percentages to 50%. Although the result is much more encouraging than the researchers of the project team Memory and Ageing (Optima) expected, they warn that it is only a first step and call for caution.

AMINO ACID REDUCER
New and more extensive tests should confirm the efficacy of vitamin B to reduce the levels of the amino acid in the blood, known as homocysteine, associated with brain atrophy and Alzheimer’s. In the study, people with higher homocysteine levels were those that were most benefited. “This vitamin is doing something in the structure of the brain, is protected and that is very important because we need to protect the brain to prevent Alzheimer’s,” says Professor David Smith, who acknowledges that the results are more significant than expected.

“The effect is much larger than anyone had predicted and we are stating that this is a biological effect,” he admits. “We hope he adds, that this simple treatment can delay the development of Alzheimer’s on many people who suffer a mild cognitive decline.”

CAUTION
Vitamin B is found naturally in foods such as meat, fish, eggs and vegetables. The researchers caution that no one should start taking vitamin B supplements in high doses without consulting your doctor. Doses above 200 milligrams per day of vitamin B6, for example, can lead to loss of feeling in arms and legs, although these symptoms are reversible after discontinuing the intake of vitamins. “We need further research before recommending vitamin B supplements as a treatment for neurodegenerative diseases,” says Chris Kennard, chairman of the Medical Research Council Neuroscience and Mental Health.

Natural Acne Treatment

Question
Natural Acne Treatment: Which is more effective?
I wonder about the natural acne treatment. Are there other effective options?

Response

Many natural acne treatments are available, including diets, creams, dietary supplements and herbs. Some argue that these therapies are useful in the treatment of acne, but most have not proven effective.

Although the evidence is limited, some natural acne treatments may be useful to reduce inflammation and reduce acne outbreaks.

Tea tree oil. Some studies suggest that gels containing 5 percent tea tree oil are as effective as lotions containing five percent benzoyl peroxide, although the tea tree oil might work more slowly. For some people, tea tree oil may cause a skin reaction known as contact dermatitis. There is also some concern that topical products containing tea tree oil may cause breast growth in young men. Do not use tea tree oil, if you have rosacea, it can worsen symptoms.

how to treat bad breath

In addition to the possible causes of bad breath and formulas to eliminate it (see tips to eliminate bad breath: first part and tricks to eliminate bad breath: second part) are going to provide some useful recommendations to seek help either.

From the hand of folk remedies we suggest taking into account the following aspects:

When brushing your teeth, do not neglect your tongue it is covered with small hair-like projections, which under the microscope resemble a forest of mushrooms. Under that layer is no space to accommodate plaque and food debris that can cause bad breath, hence the importance of brushing the tongue.

Replace your toothbrush every month and flossing after brushing.
